Christmas Cookies Recipes You Can Try

Christmas is not that far and I figured I gather a few ways to prepare delightful holiday cookies for anyone who wants to make some special desserts for the kids, guests or customers. As some things don’t come out perfect from the very first attempt, here are a few easy Christmas cookies recipes you can try and you still have time to practice before the holidays.

Don’t worry if they don’t look as good as in these pictures. Plus, I am sure they will come out delicious at least so you can enjoy a nice sweet snack. Just experiment and try new tools and you will see that the second time they will come out even better looking.

So here are a few Christmas cookies recipes you can try:

1. Chocolate Drizzled Christmas Cookie Sticks

This is what you need:

  • 1 cup butter, very soft
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (or use more vanilla)
  • 2 3/4 – 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2/3 cup mini chocolate chips
  • For topping:
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup dark or milk chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles

2. Snowman Biscuits

This is what you need:

  • 200g/7oz self raising flour
  • 100g/3½oz caster sugar
  • 100g/3½oz butter, plus extra for greasing
  • 1 large free-range egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • white and blue fondant icing
  • white and black writing icing
  • sprinkles
  • 48 small chocolate balls

You will also need a round cookie cutter for this business.

3. Gingerbread Cookies

This is what you need:

  • 75g butter
  • 3 1/2tbsp golden syrup
  • 60g light soft brown sugar
  • 175g plain flour
  • 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2tsp ground ginger

Again, here you might need some cute festive cookie cutters.

4. Chocolate Sugar Cookies

This is what you need:

  • 2 cups unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Here again you can count on a nice set of Christmas cookie cutters.

5. Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

This is what you need:

  • 120g (1 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 400g (2 cups) white sugar
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 250g (2 cups) all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ~1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar (for coating)

Besides, for most of the jobs above, you could use some tools like a decorating pen and a rolling pin for the fondant.
